Three Toed Sloth

My daughter showed me a You Tube video with Kristen Bell on Ellen and I couldn't stop laughing. Adorable. So, of course my next softie had to be a sloth. Mine is a three toed, but two toed are just as cute.

Oh and here is a link to the You Tube Video if you want a chuckle

On My Knitting Needles This Week

I always have several projects going on at once. Sometimes I wish I was one of those "get it done, before you start something new" kind of people, but I've learned I need to change it up or it won't get done at all.

What's New In April

What's new here...

dining room set with fun parson's chairs

summertime cut for Stewart
things are blooming

new birks and Walter's gray hair (sorry silver)

it's a treasure-State Street Market find-old pencil sharpener
pretty vintage crochet potholder-yes, I finished it and if it wasn't so pretty I might use it
great chippy distressed orange and teal candle holders-oh and a sweet prim bunny

Look what she made

I love them. A great Etsy customer shared her pictures with me. Thanks Lorraine

I know Penguins tend to hang out more during those Winter months, but I was in a black and white sort of mood. I think penguins can hang around all year. What do you think?

Sometimes things work out just the way you imagined

You've probably heard the saying, "inspiration is all around us", well this
is definitely true, I get ideas about what I'd like to make and how I'd like the finished product to look all the time.

Problem is sometimes those ideas just don't work out and the finished product just isn't what I imagined at all. There seems to be a lot of those days, and I know to get it right, there are times we have to...try, try, again.

Yippee, today wasn't one of those days for me. I smiled when I look at my new Koala Bear's face and love the way his personality turned out. Maybe he'll make you smile too.

New Pattern, "Anticipation" Sweet Mama Waits

This sweet pattern is definitely called, "Anticipation". Look at her waiting for her egg to hatch.

I know some of you are wondering...what took her so long to make a bird. For those of you who don't know me, I'm a bit of a bird freak. I love them, I know who doesn't these days, but I've loved them for a while now and still can't help picking up every little bird nick knack, do dad and picture I see.

Well, here she is, I hope she's loved.

All finished and ready to meet you. "Simply Sweet Fox" is the fourth pattern in this series. He's about 11 inches tall and full of personality. Created with medium worsted weight yarn, a G hook and some basic crochet stitches (sc, hdc, dc, tc and crocheting in the round).

Can you guess?

Can you guess what type of animal will be my next pattern? His head definitely gave me a bit of a challenge, but he seems to be cooperating now and after another test, you should be meeting this sweet......oops almost told you. Anyway you should be seeing a new pattern soon.

Getting Ready for Easter

Holidays always seem to sneak up on me. So I thought I'd better work on something for Easter so you can be ready too.

This sweet bunny wreath is perfect for Spring, Easter and Gift Giving.
Pattern includes detailed instructions (English) for creating the bunny, flowers and putting your wreath together along with a materials list and additional hints and tips to put your wreath together. Yarn wrapping instructions are not included, but the process is very simple. Just wrap, wrap and wrap. Secure ends and decorate.

Basic crochet stitches are used in the pattern, i.e., sc, hdc, dc, tr and some crocheting in the round. Skill level = easy

Materials needed include any medium worsted weight yarn (sample used Vanna's choice), eyelash yarn (sample made with Martha Stewart's glitter eyelash, love it by the way), about 24" of 2 types of ribbon (sample used polyester and organdy), safety eyes (can use buttons or beads), glue gun, glue, blush and a tiny bit of white felt.

Always appreciate the help

Do you have questions, comments or feedback about your Simply Cute or Simply Sweet crochet pattern. I'd love to hear from you and would really appreciate your help. I've recently added a Errata and Tutorial page to help ensure your pattern is easy to read, fun to make and helps you create a softie you'll love.

Thanks so much for your help and support. I want you to love making these sweeties as much as I love creating them.

E-Books on Ravelry

Heavy Snow Day

We sure have been spoiled this year with just a little snow and mild temperatures. It's been so nice in fact, I almost forgot what February in Illinois was supposed to be like until yesterday. We got hit with some nice heavy, snowball packing snow. The flakes where about the size of potato chips. It was definitely pretty this morning if you didn't have to drive. I was lucky and got to see it from my kitchen window while finishing up my newest pattern. What do you think. Are there any monkey lovers are there?

Gotta Have a Frog

This sweet frog's face definitely makes me smile. I'm thrilled add him to my "Simply Sweet" Crochet collection. Hope you like him. I think his feet and bent knees are great. He works up quickly with basic stitches, worsted weight yarn and a size F crochet hook. His pattern is available for immediate download from my Ravelry or Craftsy Shop. PDF's are also available from The Wool Purl on Etsy.
