Materials:
~Worsted Weight Yarn
2 oz light brown, small amounts of dark brown,
orange and red. Sample made with Red
Heart yarn.
Size G (4mm) crochet hook, fiberfill, tapestry
needle and 1 pair of black 9mm safety eyes (if you are unable to find safety
eyes at your local craft store, 6060.etsy.com has a large selection to choose
from)
Optional Materials:
powder blush and small (about 1 inch) piece of white
felt for under eyes
Finished measurements: approx. 6
inches tall from top of head to bottom, 4 inches long.

Notes and Tips:
Helpful
to read these before starting and maybe even again when it's time to put your
softie together
~Do not join pieces that are crocheted in the round unless otherwise
indicated
~A stitch marker will come in handy when repeating
rounds or another helpful way to keep track of your rounds is to, start all
pieces with a long tail, pull the tail through the beginning stitch of each
round.
~Use a tiny piece of felt under eyes to help them stand out. Cut two small
circles (tracing around a button, just slightly bigger than your eyes will help
make a nice circle). Cut a small slit in the center of the circle, insert eye
stem and attach to head. Important note: Do not close head/body, until you have secured safety eye
fasteners.
~Separate yarn into two plies for eyebrows and to
make sewing on the beak and gobbler easier.
~Hair cut several 4 inches long pieces of yarn, separate into 2 plies. Thread
tapestry needle with one piece of yarn, insert needle under one single crochet
stitch on top center of head, pull yarn halfway through, tie a small tight knot
in the center, spread yarn into single ply. Repeat for each piece. Adding as
much or as little hair as you like. Trim to desired length.
~After your turkey is all put together. Add a little
blush to his cheeks. Be careful, start
out lightly, it's easy to add more blush, but a bit tricky trying to get it
off.

not sew bottom of wing.
Gobbler
with red
1: ch
7, 3 sc in 2nd ch from hook, 3 sc in next ch, 2 sc in next ch, sc in each of
the last 3 chs. FO, weave in ends, sew to center of face, sew beak slightly over
gobbler.
Beak
starting at bottom with orange
1: ch
2, 4 sc in 2nd ch from hook

in first sc, sc in each remaining sc (6), (7), (8), FO, leave a long tail for sewing.
Flatten beak, thread tapestry needle with ending yarn, whip stitch closed.

I believe there is an error in the 1st round of the head & body. You say to do 9 sc in the 2nd ch. But you say you end up w/ 6 sc in the end?
