Something for Babies

Babies love their blankets. I've seen several versions of these sweet animal blankets in stores and thought it would be nice if we (crocheters) could make them with our own personal touches. Makes a great shower or welcome home gift. Want something other then a teddy bear? Be sure to keep watching for new patterns.

Works up quickly with your favorite worsted weight yarns. I used soft Vanna's Choice for the sample.

Safety Eyes from 6060.etsy.com

Do you need safety eyes to make your toy crochet pattern come to life? Most of my patterns use 12 or 15mm safety eyes. After talking to some of my customers, I've discovered these just are not that easy to find.

Problem solved. 6060.etsy.com carries all the eyes we need. I can't wait to use some of her painted eyes on my next toy project.  I hope they have what your looking for.

Elgin Knit Works African Flower Bag.

I just finished the sample bag and pattern for the "EKW African Flower Bag".

The African Flower motif is all over Ravelry these days so we just couldn't resist making something with it. A nice size bag seemed like the perfect project. Made with beautiful Pima Cotton, it was a pleasure to crochet. You can see the bag and get the pattern at Elgin Knit Works

Feeling The Need for Some Granny Squares

Love Grannies. So many possibilities. That said...feeling the need to make a throw, something I can accomplish before I get the urge to move on to something else (which I always do and speaking of that...I need to create a new pattern).

Make the squares

keep making squares (really there are 25 for this little throw)

join squares and start edging

Three Toed Sloth

My daughter showed me a You Tube video with Kristen Bell on Ellen and I couldn't stop laughing. Adorable. So, of course my next softie had to be a sloth. Mine is a three toed, but two toed are just as cute.

Oh and here is a link to the You Tube Video if you want a chuckle
